ESC IBS Consortium Minutes from October 22, 2019 Meeting was called to order at 2:03 pm Eastern Time Attendance: Chris Cole DTE Craig Trautweiler New Jersey Natural Kiosk Vendors: Barb shared that an additional vendor has decided to join us in the 2020 IBS booth. After much negotiation during and after the St Louis TMAF, Grand HVAC Leasing will be joining us. As they are working on growing their leasing business with builders, they thought it would be a good idea to attend and exhibit at IBS. We now have 12 vendors utilizing 14 kiosk spaces. Budget: In spite of the additional vendors, our budget predictions still show us in the red. Barb spent a considerable amount of time going through past invoices and learning what drives the costs. It appears that Las Vegas is a much more expensive venue compared to Orlando due to the requirements that Freeman do most of the work for the booth. In Orlando, the convention center does a lot of set up at a much more reasonable cost. This is not good news considering the show will remain in Vegas starting in 2023. Dave will be speaking with AGA shortly to see if there can be any cost sharing between our companies. Work Schedule for the Show: Attendance at the 2020 IBS is of course optional for IBS member companies. However, for those who plan to attend the show please fill out the spreadsheet that is provided with these minutes showing the name of the person (s) who will be attending from your company noting any times that they can be scheduled to work the booth. Please note that this form is slightly different than the one sent with the meeting invite and the most recent form should be used. Please fill out the form and return it to me at your earliest convenience. It is very important that the people follow the schedule that is established. We do not want to have a large group of people show up at once with the result of clogging the traffic flow in the booth. Space will be tight and we want to ensure that visitors have easy access to all vendors. Attire at the Show: At our meeting in St Louis, it was discussed that people that worked the booth at previous shows used to purchase identical shirts to wear during time spent in the booth. It was decided that this would create a more professional look in addition to directing visitors who to speak with if they had any questions. Chris Cole, DTE, has graciously offered to look into what it would take to order shirts. We will be setting up a store through Lands End. The individuals who will be attending the show and working the booth should follow the link below to take a look at the shirts. We will need the AGA logo and the company logo only for those who will attend the show. Once we know what format the logos need to be in Barb will upload the logos she already has due to working on Natural Living magazine. Each attendee will be responsible for ordering their own shirt. If you plan to attend the show, please look at the shirts by following this link: https://business.landsend.com/Women/Tops/Polos/Women%27s-Short-Sleeve-Solid-Active-Polo-Shirt/p/4199062 Please note that there is a tab for the women’s selections and a separate tab for the men’s shirts. Thank you, Chris! Speaker at IBS: Also at St Louis TMAF Chris Strippelhoff, Municipal Gas Authority of GA, noted that he had an “in” for us to supply a speaker for a codes and standards meeting to be held on Sunday morning, January 19th. After TMAF, Barb reached out to Neil Leslie who has agreed to speak on electrification; more to follow. Open Discussion: There were no other discussion items so the meeting was adjourned at 2:25 pm.
